What the day looks like

One block, one afternoon,
and a whole lot of neighbors

A man in an apron and wide-brimmed hat laughs behind a barrel smoker while neighbours carry plates and children run past.

On the grill

The Mayor's on the grill.

Mayor Mondale Robinson runs the smoker all day. Free BBQ plates while they last, and there is no charge for anything on this lawn.

Folding tables under string lights with covered dishes as neighbours serve plates.

On the table

A plate with your name on it.

Covered dishes, folding tables, and shade. Come for an hour or stay the whole afternoon. Bring a neighbour who has not heard about it yet.

Children painting paper suns and pinwheels at a low table with an adult volunteer.

For the kids

Something for the kids, too.

A children's art table running all day, paper suns and pinwheels, and room to run. This day was built for families.

The EV showcase

Parked on your street, not in a showroom

You have probably read about electric trucks. On September 19 you can put your hand on one. Electric cars, trucks and e-bikes will be on display for the whole day, free to walk up to.

Where: across the street from the Lab, in the Market Plus IGA lot.

With thanks to Market Plus IGA for making room for us in the lot of the grocery store that feeds this town.

Same house. New future.

A historic fixer-upper is becoming the Enfield Weatherization and Innovation Lab. A place where neighbours train for real careers making homes more efficient, where families learn to cut their power bills, and where the skills and the savings stay right here in town.

Halifax County is one of the most energy-burdened counties in North Carolina. That is not an accident, and it does not have to be permanent. This is how it starts to change.

We are not finished yet. That is exactly why we are gathering. Come see it for yourself.

Why it matters

Turning the Black Belt into a Green Belt of opportunity

Enfield has carried more than its share. What it has never lacked is people who show up for one another. Revitalization Day is that instinct pointed at something buildable: lower bills, real jobs, and a community asset owned here, working for the people who live here.

Come eat. Come look. Come see what your town is making.
